I needed an air cleaner for my apartment due to the fact that I am a medical marijuana patient in Los Angeles and I keep the windows closed most of the time and the air conditioner running. The unit is a little larger than I expected but was able to find a location that has it out of the way of foot traffic and also away from the ceiling fan. We have had one of these that ran 24/7/365 for about 8 years and the motor bearing finally gave out. I think that was a lot of use and we got our money's worth on the first one. We replaced it with one exactly like it because we really missed the pleasant white noise it adds to our bedroom. Both the clean air and the soothing noise help us to sleep.
